SMS Gateway Integration

This guide will help you configure both gateways so your platform can send SMS for verification and notifications.

📲 SMS Gateway Integration

BDExchanger supports integration with multiple SMS gateway providers. Below is a step-by-step guide for Twilio and Vonage (Nexmo).

🔧 Twilio Integration

✅ Step 1: Create a Twilio Account

• Go to https://www.twilio.com/

• Sign up and verify your email and phone number

• After login, go to the Console

✅ Step 2: Get Your Twilio Credentials

Copy the following from your Twilio dashboard:

• Account SID
• Auth Token
• Verify Service SID 

✅ Find Verify Service SID

In the left sidebar, go to:
Explore Products > Verify > Services

• Click Create new service

• Name your service (e.g., BDExchanger Verification) and select SMS as the channel

✅ Step 3: Enter Twilio Settings in Admin Panel

1. Go to: Admin Panel > Web Settings > SMS Gateway Section

2. Select Twilio as your gateway

3. Fill in the fields:

   • SID = Your Twilio Account SID

   • Auth Token = Your Twilio Auth Token

   • Verify Service SID = paste the service sid 

4. Save the settings

🔧 Vonage (Nexmo) Integration

✅ Step 1: Create a Vonage Account

• Go to https://www.vonage.com/communications-apis/

• Sign up for a free or paid account

✅ Step 2: Get Your API Credentials

From the Vonage Dashboard, copy:

• API Key

• API Secret

✅ Step 3: Enter Vonage Settings in Admin Panel

1. Go to: Admin Panel > Settings > SMS Gateway
   

2. Select Vonage (Nexmo) as your gateway

3. Fill in the fields:

   • API Key

   • API Secret

4. Save the settings

✅ Step 4: Test SMS

• Try registering a new account and go to verification section. Then save your phone number. and lick on verify

• You should receive an SMS if everything is set up properly.

⚠️ Common Issues & Tips

• Ensure your server supports cURL and can make external HTTP requests

• Make sure your SMS balance is sufficient

• Double-check phone number formatting: use international format (e.g., +8801XXXXXXXXX)

• If in demo mode, SMS functions may be disabled
